Ballinakill Vintage
and Classic Car Owners' Club was formed
in March 1997 as a spin-off from the
Ballinakill village rally, as there
was a great response from local enthusiasts.
Some forty members were enlisted and
the first Committee comprised:
Ballinakill club started
as an all-Ireland club, with members
from Wexford, Kilkenny and Waterford,
as well as from the locality. The first
AGM was held in Ballinakill and this
practice continues to this day. The
club holds an annual auto jumble and
this has been held in a wide variety
of locations, including Kildangan, Monasterevin,
The Curragh, Portlaoise, Newbridge and
Heywood College in Ballinakill.
The annual membership
is approximately 120 and the club is
solely for owners of classic and vintage
vehicles.
